I
was shopping with a friend recently and realized how much deciding on your
personal style really helps when getting dressed. My friend is more fashion forward and chose
labels & current looks that she recognized - making her trendy, while I
chose by cuts, colors & fabrics that complimented my body type yet had an extraordinary
touch about them - marking me chic. Both
of us chose a few classic pieces that could mingle in with our other choices
and would stay in style through many seasons, like a denim jacket or khaki
skirt.
Now
more than ever we have so much room to wear whatever we choose without the
fashion police giving us a ticket. But when your staring at a full closet,
being able to wear anything does not help you to make a choice. But choosing what message you want to send to
the world through your clothes can help you narrow down your closet and make
great fashion choices.

pounds ago my message was to just hide from the world so baggy shirts and
stretch pants were my daily choice. But now that I have found my waist and have
decided to try and be fashionable, I want to send a message that I am “chic” – What
I think is the look of an elegant & fashionable women’s boutique owner and/or a
