Top 10 Diet Motivation Tips

Dear Diva's:
29 pounds Down!!!! Applause Please!! Like many of us on the diet rollercoaster. . I have Yoyo'd up and down. Most significantly by gaining back 10 of the pounds I lost.  My Shenanigans! ! Well I am very happy to announce that I just passed that marker and weigh less (only by a few oz. But I'm celebrating), than I did this spring! ! 
But this time I'm paying attention.  I won't be dazzled by dropping a dress size and forget that this weight loss journey requires work and my attention.  So my advice to anyone working hard to take back their life, their health and their self-esteem... Celebrate every pound, every oz. -And keep your eyes on the prize by following these tips

  1. Set small goals that are reachable.  I set a weekly goal for M-F & another for Weekends. 
  2. Reward yourself for hitting goals and weight loss milestones.  I reward myself with small non-food related items like a $12.00 gift card to Bath & Body Works. (12.00 buys a travel trio in new scent) Or a new makeup item from ELF purchased with pocket change. (I  love Elf's under eye soothing serum price tag $3.00)
  3. Track weight loss creatively with posters, notes, etc. & place items around your house to remind you of your goal.  I got a great idea from several Pinterest posts to use a 2 jars filling one with marbles and moving a marble to represent the pounds as I lose them.
  4. Hang up a goal outfit where you can see it.  I organized a clothing rack, like they do in a department store, full of the clothes I am trying to get back into.  The "pretty" look of the clothes makes me want to "shop" in my closet.
  5. Find motivating quotes online and Pin them to Pinterest, review often. My favorite is "You are not Fast, Cheap or Easy so your Food Shouldn't be either"- Repeat!
  6. Imagine what you will look like the day you hit your goal.  What you will wear, what you will do, who you are with... I can't wait to post a new photo here in my blog to show everyone my results wearing a pair of my skinny jeans!!
  7. Take a milestone photo after losing a few pounds and set it up as a before and after photo to document your progress.  Bonus - Playing in your makeup is calorie free!  Here is a photo of me taken after workouts.
  8. Remember why you want to lose weight! - Whether it's a special event or to fit a special outfit, remembering why you started your weightloss journey can help keep you going! Don't have a special reason, create one - why not plan a vacation or get tickets to an event coming to your town in the future?!!
  9. Make a list of things to do besides eat: Paint your toenails, try a new hairstyle, read a new magazine, etc.  Enjoy the experience of doing things that may be small but enrich your life rather than take away from your goals.
  10. Make yourself a priority and schedule time to be a Healthy Hottie!

Sweet Potato Fries Recipe!!

Dear Dolls
I woke up with a craving for "Mc fries" today! My body said yes...but my mind said NOoo -a reg Fast Food fries is 378 calories and 18 grams of fat! My mind & body compromise = Sweet Potato Fries with BBQ Truffle Dip. Amazingly good, 1/3 the calories and still good for me and the TrophyWife Diet!  The Tangy BBQ sauce means you only need a small amount for dipping - enjoy the kick not the quantity. Here is my recipe and some pictures of my snack, but there are plenty of others on the web. So explore and enjoy!  -Trophy



Heat oven to 450.
1 med Sweet potato sliced into fry sticks
French Fry seasoning
Olive Oil 1- 2TBS to lightly coat sheet pan and to drizzle on "fries"
White Truffle Oil drizzle or 1/8 tsp
BBQ Sauce 2TBS
Light Mayo 1/2 TBS
Tabasco Sauce to taste (about 1/2 tsp)

Coat large sheet pan with olive oil (spray is fine). Place potatoes in bowl and drizzle 1 Tbs of Olive Oil over fries and sprinkle (to taste) with french fry seasoning. Arrange fries on pan evenly with space in between. Place pan in middle of hot oven and bake until crisp. About 15 minutes. 
Prepare dip by mixing BBQ sauce,Tabasco, light mayo and truffle oil in a small bowl.
 110 calories with Med Sweet Potato

* Make your own french Fry Seasoning - sprinkle paprika, garlic powder, pepper, chili powder and onion powder over fries.
** Sweet Tooth - Instead of French Fry Seasoning, sprinkle the potatoes with a dusting of sugar and cinnamon with the olive oil for a sweet variation on this dish.
**Great BenefitsSweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene). They are also a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, copper, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6. Additionally, they are a good source of potassium, dietary fiber, niacin, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and phosphorus.

Dear Diva:  I am super excited about shopping this year and ready for my first Happy Hour - 23 pounds lighter than last year.

Of course I will start with my signature "lipgloss & lashes" but what about the rest of me, can't go naked..., and honestly I am so over my hide the fat in black uniform for the last 2 years.  I checked out Marie Claire Magazine and it's Party Dresses 101 ideas and saw some great ideas. But I think I found heaven over at  Jolly Chic  where I have found Budget friendly fashions and my old favorite Nordstrom.com, they have a widget that allows me to shop by my body type.  First I chose my body type by the descriptions listed, then I clicked on the style I preferred based on their recommendations.  I chose the wrap style dresses as the best look for my hourglass body type and found some excellent choices to purchase or use as inspiration.  And I plan to do a little budget friendly shopping at JollyChic Fashion Website. They actually have dresses like the ones shown here starting at prices around $6.00 I love fashion - I love a fashion deal even more!  So go reward your weightloss milestones with a little SHOPPING Diva!

  I think one of these - or all of them!  Then on to  my next dilemma - Choosing SHOES!!??

2 Day Detox Diet DIY

 Dearest DIVA:  I am pounds down and feeling GOOD!!  Mr. Trophy has been sliding his arm around my waist more often -He is feeling good too! L.O.L.   We are on vacation so I have put the diet on "slow down" so that I can enjoy a few treats. But I am not slowing down with workouts, swimming and dancing as much as possible!  I am also planning my recovery to reboost my diet when I get back to reality - with the 1-2 Detox, a 2 day detox program.  While the cleansing effect of the 1-2 Diet is great, what's even greater is the 2-4 pounds I usually drop right away.  Here is the recipe below to try it.  -Trophy

This 1-2 Detox is not for everybody. 

 It takes discipline, a healthy body and dedication. And Diva's are spoiled so sacrifice is not easy.  But if you are ready to get healthy and willing to get ready for the starring role called your life - then this will be no problem for you.  Why do it?
   
The 1.  Because we are #1 and must take care of our temple.  We are going to cleanse the colon & toxins in the body and get some "gunk" out.
The 2. Because it only last two days. And once you start you have to stick to it to get the results. 

How to:  Mix together the 1-2 Detox Drink.  Each morning drink 8 oz. of the 1-2 Detox Diet mixture along with 1 large boiled egg -the whites only! Follow with 3 more drinks throughout the day, spacing them out as you would your meals and a “snack” before bedtime.  In between these meals you must drink plenty of water 6-8 glasses each day.  You can put real lemon juice and cucumbers in your water.
You may also eat raw green leafy veggies with this diet. That’s lettuce, greens, or spinach.  (About 2 heads) RAW only!  You can drizzle a couple of tablespoons of your 1-2 Detox over the leafy greens to act as a dressing or use balsamic vinegar.

1-2 Detox Diet Recipe: (there is reason behind this blend so try not to deter)

6 oz of each Cranberry, Pineapple, & Apple JUICE – Real fruit juice
8 oz of Orange Juice – Pure with or without pulp
4 oz of each Apricot, Peach, & Banana Puree
1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper
You can puree the fruit yourself if you have a food processor or you can just use baby food.  If you use baby food note that apricot is sometimes hard to find un-blended so a mix is ok.  for example an Apricot/berry blend will work.  

Mix everything together and add an equal amount of water.  You can do this all at once (the 38 oz. of juices with 38oz. of water) or mix together the 1-2 Detox Diet juices with the water as you drink it (4-6oz of juice blend with 4-6 oz of water).

*Don't want to blend yourself, check out the Detox mixes at the drugstore.  I like mixing myself- I know its fresh and exactly what's in it.  But I have tried the Hollywood Diet drink mix available at chain drugstores or online.

Trophy Wife Diet Makeover: Muscle weighs 4 lbs??

Dearest Diva:  You have probably heard it before Muscle weighs more than fat - while fat takes up more room than muscle. Here is the News Flash!! What I recently learned and just had to share with you is that 1 pound of muscle while about a 1/3 of the size of 1 pound of fat -can hold up to 3 pounds of water.  Fat doesn't hold that much water so it's just enlarged fat cells weighting around for us to shrink (or enlarge) them.

WHOA!!  So while it kind of frustrates me it does explain to me why the scale doesn't move sometime.  So Diva this means instead of freaking out when that scale does not move, instead we need to grab a tape measure and track inches.  Another great idea is to grab a pair of tight pants and try them on ever so often to  see how they feel.  I did this recently with a pair of jeans when I had been really good diet wise, but the scale did not reflect it.  The pants showed the weight loss when the button was no longer digging into my muffin top.
**Motivation - Not excited by a small weight loss.  go grab a bag of sugar and reflect how that 4 lb bag would look added to your body.  Where would you add it??  And Where have you lost it??
